Happy 5th Year!

Dear friends,

I can hardly believe it’s been five years since this ministry began. It’s been one of the most beautiful yet challenging things I’ve ever done. It’s grown and stretched me, I’ve cried, laughed, pushed through and wanted to give up. This ministry has been one of the greatest teachers of my life.

We don’t ‘do’ ministry we ‘are’ ministry. It’s an everyday thing, it’s day in and day out. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the past five years is that ministry is truly service. It’s an ability to meet a need. Ministry isn’t reserved just for the days when you “feel” like it, ministry is everyday life as a believer. We are all called to meet needs within our sphere of influence…on days when you feel like it and more importantly on days when you don’t.

Over the past five years in ministry, my faith has been tested and strengthened. I’ve watched God meet needs and change lives. I’ve seen God’s grace completely cover and overshadow my weaknesses. I’ve learned He is completely there with us when we take bold leaps of faith. I’ve learned I don’t have to be qualified in the eyes of man to be called to do anything for God. The grace of God is what qualifies me. There have been many times I have focused on my lack, inadequacies or insecurities, learning that those are the times that I need to zero in and focus on God’s ability, power, and plan instead.

I could go on and on about the lessons I have learned through this ministry, but that is not the point. The point is God is good, He is always faithful and He will gently lead you through whatever He asks you to do. It won’t always be easy but it will always be blessed. Also, anything that is good that has come from the past five years through this ministry has come straight from God.

Thank you for sharing, supporting and praying for The Tack Room over the past five years!
